Write Brain Wordsmiths was founded by editor-in-chief Donna Parrey, an experienced business researcher, writer and editor with more than ten years of experience.
Introductions are in order! I’m Donna Parrey, and I have extensive experience in business writing, editing, copywriting, research and survey/data analysis. I’m adept at developing Web site content, scripts, resource center articles, e-mail campaigns, blogs, press releases and other marketing communications. My experience includes project management, workshop facilitation, scenario writing and team leading.
Most of my business writing has reflected my corporate human resources background and includes large-scale studies, executive summaries, scenarios and weekly columns. I’m skilled in fact-checking, APA-style references, proofreading and working under deadlines. Known for my nose-to-the-grindstone work ethic and productivity, I’ve successfully worked from my home office for more than 10 years.
For nearly a decade, I was a senior research analyst and knowledge center manager for a think tank of HR futurists, the Institute for Corporate Productivity (i4cp, previously the Human Resource Institute). In that role, I produced a column, Strategic Insights, every other week (750-850 words). The bulk of my research and writings focused on the trends, drivers, implications and strategies involved with many workforce issues. These included:

I have a master’s degree in Management from the University of South Florida, a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the College of New Jersey and I’m certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR). My management experience as an HR generalist/consultant spans the corporate, PEO and not-for-profit sectors. My HR expertise includes recruiting, retention, compensation, performance management, employee relations, HRIS design and benefits administration.
I’m a published business, marketing and freelance writer, specializing in non-fiction articles for newspapers and magazines (much of this work was published under my previous name of Donna Bear).
If a client requires a specific pocket of expertise beyond the scope of my offerings or if the volume of business expands beyond my availability, I may selectively utilize the talents of trusted professional associates who share my work ideals, but never without my client’s knowledge and approval.
On the personal side, I’m a Baby Boomer who cherishes my Florida beach lifestyle. I have two daughters, Amanda and Kira.
